If you or someone you know needs help with their energy bills, South West Energy Agency can help. They say:
- Our 9-5pm energy advice line on 0800 500 3076 is still open, anyone can ring in and get advice on energy efficiency and local funding (all funded work through us is obviously postponed but we will happily make the referral over for the future). We have offered the advice line service to the council for any other use at this time.
- Our Energy Advocate service locally can be accessed through the advice line or energyservice@ccp.org.uk, we will take self-referrals or any organisations working with vulnerable/isolated clients (with consent). This is an in-depth social service where clients will receive an advocate on their side if they are dealing with debt, billing or pre-payment meter, and anyone in need a helping hand, there is no qualifying criteria (help is provided over the phone at present but followed with home visits post COVID-19).
- We are now providing a blog to discuss energy saving measures the first two are quite general ‘Five energy saving tips for the unexpectedly housebound’ and ‘What can my energy company do to help me during the coronavirus pandemic?’, next week we will be producing a blog on ‘Social Isolation’ and how we find it in our work (there are blogs relating to climate change and retrofit in the pipeline).
- Other updates (and blog posts) will be occurring via our social media Facebook and Twitter
