It’s Zero Waste Week. Pop into SVP’s eco shop and do your bit
This week is Zero Waste Week. Beginning in 2008, Zero Waste Week has been raising awareness about the environmental impacts of waste and helps householders, businesses, organisations, schools, universities and community groups reduce non-recyclable waste so you can save money, preserve resources and protect the environment.
Minimising waste is, of course, right in the wheelhouse of Stroud Valleys Project’s eco shop. You can recycle a number of materials at the shop that may be difficult to recycle elsewhere, including biscuit wrappers, coffee packaging, dental products, mobile phones and jewellery (broken or intact).
We also offer a wide range of vegan, cruelty-free cleaning product refills, including laundry liquid, washing up liquid, hand sanitiser, toilet cleaner, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Reusing plastic bottles is a much better option than continually buying a new bottle when you run out. Just bring along a clean and empty plastic bottle that states a capacity and get your refills in!
Reducing waste to ‘zero’ will never, of course, be entirely possible. It’s probably more of an idealisation than reality. But if each of us recycled just one more thing it could make an enormous difference to our world.
