Little Pickers Campaign

Transition Stroud is really pleased to be supporting our Director Gill Thomas’ Litter Pickers for Little Pickers campaign, which aims to buy over 1,400 litter pickers for 45 local schools, as well as books and reading sessions, benefitting over 7,000 primary aged children across Stroud District.

Gill is taking part in various fundraising challenges and delivering assemblies to local schools involved to help raise awareness this year. The schools have asked for anything from 10 to 100 sticks each so they can help keep local communities clean and litter free. It has been heartwarming to witness such enthusiasm! The demand from schools for litter pickers has been incredible, and proves there is a strong desire in our communities for action.

Giving schools all these litter pickers is going to make the activity of picking up litter so much more accessible, and in so doing, will help to promote positive behaviour change. The money raised will also go towards books and reading sessions that will explain to children why litter picking is important for the environment.

Can’t Donate to a Crowfunder? We can help

Gill has had lots of interest from local organisations who want to support and donate to this campaign – but who can’t support individual crowdfunders. Transition Stroud are happy to take your donation on Gill’s behalf and make sure your support is registered and securely managed to buy the pickers and books. Please contact us to donate to the campaign and help Gill reach her target.

Thanks for everyone’s support!
