PEOPLE’S EMERGENCY BRIEFING – FILM SHOWINGS
April – October 2026
Join a community showing of The People’s Emergency Briefing – a new public information film about the climate and nature breakdown – and what we still need to do about it.
Showings are being held across Stroud District through 2026, alongside community discussions about what action we can take.

POWER STATION
4-6pm, Sunday 6th September 2026
Join us for the film screening of Power Station, a 2025 British documentary showcasing an empowering story from the streets and roofs of North East London. How to transform your neighbourhood into a community-owned energy-generating powerhouse?
This fun packed and fascinating film showing is a fundraiser for The Festival of Commoning, in partnership with Transition Stroud and the Trinity Rooms.

ECO HOMES SHOW
Tuesday 10th November 2026
Make your home greener, warmer and cheaper to run.
Join us at the Eco Homes Show on Tuesday 10 November 2026, from 10am to 4pm, at The Sub Rooms in central Stroud.
This free community event brings together around 20 local businesses and support services who can help you make practical eco-improvements to your home.
REPAIR CAFES
Monthly
Repair Cafés are free meeting places that are all about repairing things – together. At our Repair Cafés you’ll find tools and materials to help you make any repairs you need, as well as expert volunteers to help complete the job. Book you repair in here
There are three regular Repair Cafes each month
- First Saturdays – Minchinhampton Repair Cafe at Minchinhampton Library
- Second Sundays – Nailsworth Repair Cafe
- Last Sundays – Stroud Repair Cafe at Trinity Rooms
STROUD CLIMATE CAFES

Grief……fear……anger…..despair: the climate and nature crisis can bring up all of these feelings and more in us.
A Climate Cafe is a chance to talk, to be heard and to hear other people’s experience. It can be very supportive and empowering to come together in this way, to know we’re not alone in facing these tumultuous times.
Facilitated by Bill Roberts and Sue Ryall to help support people alongside local showings of People’s Emergency Briefing.
Climate Cafes will take a break for the summer, but be back from September.
